We Connect Fellowship Program

Empowering Youth, Transforming Communities:

We WE connect Fellowship Program

Welcome to the We Girl’s Fellowship Program by Lakshya Jeevan Jagriti (LJJ), an initiative dedicated to empowering girls from underprivileged backgrounds and transforming uninformed youth from impoverished urban neighborhoods into active, informed citizens. Through our comprehensive two-year fellowship, we aim to foster financial independence, enhance the voice and agency of young individuals, and equip them with the skills, confidence, and mindset to create meaningful change in their lives and communities.

Program Overview

The We Connect Fellowship offers a transformative journey for youth living in the slums of Delhi. It provides essential tools, skills, and opportunities, enabling them to rise as leaders, overcome societal and economic barriers, and drive meaningful change in their environments. Inspired by the belief that every girl has the potential to lead, the program focuses on personal growth, leadership development, and social-emotional learning.

Key Focus Areas:

– Leadership Development: Fellows emerge as local leaders, shaping the future of their communities through active engagement, mentoring, and empowerment.

– Financial Independence: We break the cycle of poverty by helping 40% of our alumni secure employment in sectors such as healthcare, education, and retail, setting them on a path toward sustainable livelihoods.

Impact on Children:

– Educational Advancement: Each year, 177 children benefit from our learning centers, where they receive quality education and support.

– School Readiness: We help 90% of children complete the documentation required for school, with 80% starting or continuing their education, ensuring they are prepared for a brighter future.

Outcomes:
– Self-Confidence and Leadership: Build confidence and leadership skills through peer learning, mentoring, and hands-on projects.
– Education and Career Ownership: Empower girls to take charge of their education and career paths, making them active agents of change within their communities.
– Gender Equality and Role Models: Promote gender equality by helping participants become role models and advocates for other girls in their environment.
– Breaking Barriers: Equip participants with the tools to challenge stereotypes, break barriers, and envision new possibilities for their futures.
– Vocational Training and Workforce Opportunities: Encourage financial independence through skill-building and vocational training, connecting them to opportunities in the workforce.

The We Girl’s Fellowship is more than just a program—it’s a movement aimed at uplifting young girls, transforming them into leaders, visionaries, and change-makers who will inspire and uplift entire communities.
