Two wonderfully jolly kids shared their experiences. Two neighbors but bonding like brothers. Fathers of both the kids lost their job in this second wave. They had no money and could not afford ration or pay the rent and electricity bills. As a family, they are facing many issues but when asked about their father they simply said that their fathers are hardworking men.
When Bhanu joined the classes, he used to sit quietly and never speak a word in front of everyone. He was so shy and underconfident that he did not make any friends in the class. Eventually both the kids started to enjoy the classroom and join English speaking sessions, Mathematics, Art, and dance.
Bhanu started sharing in the class and Sunny used to join him in every activity. These children participated in every of our online event. They made wonderful paintings, celebrated Xmas by reciting poems, wrote Hindi stories.
It is almost a year since these kids were happy that they were still able to study and having wonderful classes with LJJ. Their parents were immensely proud of them because of the regularity and interest to attend the classes no matter what. They learned and improved their English in this lockdown and wanted to continue to do so. But March 2021 again came with lot of challenges, regular data recharge becomes a problem every month. It breaks their heart every time their father can’t afford a recharge. But It is wonderful to see those little 12-year-old kids understand the needs of their family and themselves for their growth. They help at home but at the same time do lots of mastii! But the pandemic has taught them the most important of all, practicing mindfulness when they feel restless! Tender 12-year-old kids understand how to keep themselves and their entire family calm is a beautiful thing.
