Mohit Verma

Mohit had to drop his schooling in 9th grade due to financial issues at home. His father works as a helper in a local gym. Manish joined our job training program in October 2019, his incomplete schooling incurred a deeply rooted demotivation inside him and led him away from his social life. Mohit started to work on his communication skills, learned computer, started engaging with young children in the center. Lockdown occurred in March 2020 and Mohit did not got any chance to apply for a job. 

When Lakshya started the food drive, Mohit joined us as a volunteer to serve the food in the community. Every day he used to come on time and without single daybreak, he went to slums, distributed the food in the scorching heat, connected with community kids, and made them aware of social distancing. In the one year of working in different slums of Delhi, Mohit become different person now. He is very much connected with the children in the community and created connections with the locals. He showed his interest to teach slum children and after training and support from Lakshya Mohit has successfully started his open space classes in Zakhira slum. Teaching ang taking care of education of 80 children in that slum, also maintaining the data base of children, listening their need of food and groceries and making it available for them.
